Our April 28th PowerTalk was our first discussion of the main features of this bill, our opinion of them and how we plan to keep you up-to-date on this significant legislation. Discussion points included:

What will happen to my rates in the short term? Long term??

How much will my business be required to pay towards my employees' health insurance?

What are the penalties if I don't/can't pay?

     What subsidies will be offered?

Our guest speakers--William C. Tracy, Chief Executive Officer UnitedHealthcare, Heartland States; and James Watson, UHC's Vice President of Government Affair--offered their views on the immediate impact of the law, and what to look for as the legislation travels from Capital Hill into the marketplace.

They were joined by Power Group CEO Mark Avery and Power Group COO Jack Noble for a Q&A session following the presentations.
